(10 points) The wheat market is perfectly competitive, and the market supply and demand curves are given by the following equations: Q D
=200−40P
Q S
=70+25P
where Q D
and Q S
are quantity demanded and quantity supplied measured in bushels, and P is the price per bushel. Assume that the government has imposed a price floor at $2.25 per bushel and agrees to buy any resulting excess supply. Determine consumer surplus with the price floor.
Consumer surplus is the difference between the maximum amount that consumers are ready to pay for a good and the actual amount they pay.
It can be shown graphically as the area above the equilibrium price and below the demand curve. The effect of a price floor on consumer surplus in the wheat market is shown below.
The quantity demanded (Qd) and quantity supplied (Qs) in the wheat market are given by the following equations:\(Qd = 200 - 40PQs = 70 + 25P\)
Where Qd and Qs are the quantity demanded and supplied, respectively, and P is the price per bushel. Assume that the government has imposed a price floor of $2.25 per bushel and has agreed to buy any excess supply that results from the price floor. We need to determine the consumer surplus with the price floor.
At the equilibrium price, consumer surplus is given by the area A, which is the difference between the maximum price that consumers are willing to pay for a bushel of wheat (the demand curve) and the actual price they pay (the equilibrium price).

You need a separate W-2 form from EACH of your employers in order to file your taxes C. The total wages you earned from ALL jobs you worked in the previous year appear on ONE W-2 form D. A W-2 lists all the money you earned in cash over the last year
Answer:
B. You need a separate W-2 form from EACH of your employers in order to file your taxes.
Explanation:
Taxation can be defined as the involuntary or compulsory fees levied on individuals or business entities by the government to generate revenues used for funding public institutions and activities.
In order to ensure that, all employees pay taxes on the income earned throughout the year, the internal revenue service (IRS) has made it compulsory and mandatory for all employers to make available a W-2 Form to all their employees, so as to enable these employees fill out the total amount of wages, how much income tax is to be withheld from their respective paycheck in relation to their filing status and how much was paid as tax the previous year. Therefore, a W-2 form is used by an employer to report the wages paid to each employee, calculate how much tax should be withheld from his or her employee's paycheck and submitted to the internal revenue service (IRS).
Additionally, any employee who defaults in the payment of his or her income tax would be faced with stiff penalties such as failure-to-file, paying a fine etc.
Hence, the true statement regarding a W-2 form is that, as an employer you need a separate W-2 form from each of your employers in order to file your taxes.

Madsen Motors's bonds have 18 years remaining to maturity. Interest is paid annually, they have a $1,000 par value, the coupon interest rate is 7%, and the yield to maturity is 8%. What is the bond's current market price? Round your answer to the nearest cent.
Answer:
$906.30
Explanation:
Face value (FV) = $1000
Coupon payment (C) = 7% of $1000 = $70
Yield to maturity (r) = 8% = 0.08
t = 18
Number of compounding periods (n) = 1 (annually)
Using the relation:
C[( 1 - (1 + r/n)^-nt) / (r/n)] + FV / (1 + r/n)^nt
70[(1 - (1 + 0.08)^-1*18) / (0.08/1)] + 1000 / (1 + 0.08/1)^1*18
70[1 - (1.08)^-18) / 0.08] + 1000 / 1.08^18
70[(1 - 0.2502490)/0.08] + (1000 / 3.99601949918)
70(9.3718871) + 250.24902

Simon purchases a bond, newly issued by Amalgamated Corporation, for $1000. The bond pays $60 to its holder at the end of the first and second years and pays $1,060 upon its maturity at the end of the third year. a, What are the principal amount, the term, the coupon rate, and the coupon payment for simon`s bond? b, After recieving the second coupon payment (at the en of the second year ), simon decides to sell his bond in the bond sell market. what price can he expect for his bond if the one-year interest rate at the time is 3 percent? 8 percent? 10 percent? c, Can you think of a reason that the price of simon`s bond after two years might fall below $1000, even though the market interest equals the coupon rate?
Answer and Explanation:
The computation is shown below:
a. The principal amount is $1,000
The term is 3 years
The coupon rate is 6%
So, the coupon payment is
= $1,000 × 6%
= $60
b. At the closing of the second year, the remaining amount i.e. paid should be
= $1,000 + $60
= $1,060
Now if the rate of interest is 3%
So, the amount of $1,060 one year from today is
= $1,060 ÷ 1.03
= $1,029
And, if the rate of interest is 8%
So, the value of the bond today is
= $1,060 ÷ 1.08
= $981
And, if the rate of interest is 10%
So, the amount of the today bond is
= $1,060 ÷ 1.10
= $964
c. In the case of the bad news related to the amalgamated corporation
that results in the financial investors to have terror that the firm may be go to bankrupt because of non -payment of debt. In the case when the amount of $1,060 is not made so the financial investor would not be pay $1,000 as they are well known that they can earn 6% without have any risk

Use the price-demand equation to find E(p), the elasticity of demand. X=f(p) = 92 - 0.5 e^p E(p) = ____
The price-demand equation \(E(p) = -0.5p / (92 - 0.5 e^p).\)
To find E(p), we need to take the derivative of f(p) with respect to p, and multiply it by p/f(p):
\(f(p) = 92 - 0.5 e^p\)
\(f'(p) = -0.5 e^p\)
\(E(p) = (p/f(p)) * f'(p) = (p / (92 - 0.5 e^p)) * (-0.5 e^p)\)
\(E(p) = -0.5p / (92 - 0.5 e^p)\)
Therefore, \(E(p) = -0.5p / (92 - 0.5 e^p).\)
The price-demand equation relates the price of a good to the quantity of that good demanded by consumers. In this case, the equation is given as \(X=f(p) = 92 - 0.5 e^p\), where X is the quantity demanded and p is the price of the good.
The elasticity of demand, denoted by E(p), is a measure of how sensitive the quantity demanded is to changes in price. It is calculated as the percentage change in quantity demanded divided by the percentage change in price, or as the ratio of the change in quantity demanded to the change in price.
