Abigail bought 28 shares of stock at $30.00 per share. She received dividends of $49.50 during the year. At the end of the year, her stock was valued at $43.50 per share. What was her ROI (Return on Investment)?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

If her stock was valued at $43.50 per share. Her ROI is:50.89%

Explanation:

First step

Purchase price=(28×$30)-(28×$43.50)

Purchase price= $840-$1218

Purchase price=$378

Gain in value=$378+ $49.50

Gain in value=$427.5

Second step

ROI=$427.5/$840×100

ROI=50.89%

Therefore the ROI is $15.89%.

This firsthand knowledge goes beyond sympathy and enables the speaker to develop targeted solutions that address the root causes of educational disparities.

Moreover, the speaker's own educational journey, including witnessing their older brother's trajectory from high school graduation to dropping out of college, has sparked a desire to understand why some students succeed while others face obstacles. Write: Why does the speaker feel that he could be more effective than famous education reformers?

The text:

When I actually did make it to college, I told my friend Brennan how our teachers would always ask us to raise our hands if we were going to college. I was taken aback when Brennan said, “Karim, I’ve never been asked that question before.” It was always, “What college are you going to?” Just the way that question is phrased made it unacceptable for him not to have gone to college.

Nowadays I get asked a different question. “How were you able to make it out?” For years I said I was lucky, but it’s not just luck. When my older brother and I graduated from high school at the very same time and he later dropped out of a two-year college, I wanted to understand why he dropped out and I kept studying. It wasn’t until I got to Cornell as a Presidential Research Scholar that I started to learn about the very real educational consequences of being raised by a single mother on government aid and attending the schools that I did. That’s when my older brother’s trajectory began to make complete sense to me.

I also learned that our most admirable education reformers, people like Arne Duncan, the former US Secretary of Education, or Wendy Kopp, the founder of Teach For America, had never attended an inner city public school like I had. So much of our education reform is driven by a sympathetic approach, where people are saying, “Let’s go and help these poor inner city kids, or these poor black and Latino kids,” instead of an empathetic approach, where someone like me, who had grown up in this environment, could say, “I know the adversities that you’re facing and I want to help you overcome them.”

What is Guernica

Anita is trying to think critically about whether opposites attract. Her first step is to
by questioning what support exists for this claim.

Answers

Answer: keep an open mind

Explanation:

The concept of "opposites attract" is usually used in a lot of situations, but this comes from electromagnetism (the study of electric and magnetic phenomena).

We do know that if two given bodies have opposite charges (one has a negative charge and the other has a positive charge) the coulombic force between the bodies is attractive. From this, the "opposites attract" idea is born. (A similar thing happens with magnets)

There exists a romanticization of science, to the point that a lot of ideas that come from science are extrapolated to other fields. (for example, there are people that try to explain psychology with quantum mechanics, which is kinda absurd). This is why the idea of "opposites attract" is often used in other fields than electromagnetism, like in human relations and things like that.

So thinking critically about "opposites attract", we can see that the only support of this claim comes from electromagnetism, so extrapolating this to any other field would be a mistake.

313 days after seeing the humanist on the ministry's list, a woman with pearl jewels made it visible. The first syllables gave its meaning. It lies in the two-dimensional plane. 3-4-4. It was believed that she was needed to find out the location of the treasure. The illusionist activated the memory. A Scandinavian band took inspiration from it in a song. It was not yet 40 minutes when we saw this. This is an Oscar-winning movie. Does anyone have any ideas about this riddle?

Answers

Based on the riddle described in the question above, the idea of the riddle is about the movie titled "The Dànish Girl."

What is "The Dànish Girl" movie about?

"The Dànish Girl" movie is a 2015 biographical romantic drama film directed by Tom Hooper. The movie was based on the 2000 novel of the same name by David Ebershoff and loosely inspired by the lives of Dànish painters Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener.

In the movie, "woman pearl jewels" the main character, Lili Elbe, was one of the early people to undergo gender confirmation surgery.

The movie, "313 days" refers to the duration of Lili's transition, and "the humanist on the ministry's list" refers to her wife Gerda Wegener, who was an artist.

Also, the "first syllables" giving its meaning refers to the movie's title, as "Dànish" and "Girl" are the first syllables of "The Dànish Girl".

On the other hand, the reference to the "two-dimensional plane" and the "illusionist activating the memory" are plausible artistic interpretations of the film's themes of identity and transformation.

At the same time, the reference to a Scandinavian band taking inspiration from it refers to the song "Love Is a Temple" by the Swedish band Jens Lekman, which was inspired by the movie.

The mention of "not yet 40 minutes" is referred to the movie's relatively short running time. While the "This is an Oscar-winning movie" refers to the fact that Eddie Redmayne, who played Lili Elbe, won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.'

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the riddle is talking about "The Dànish Girl" movie.
