I believe that this is an adaptive change, as the change of CEO is between individuals with similar ideals, ethics and backgrounds. So it will not be threating or jarring for employees to adjust to. However there is potential for this to evolve into an innovative change depending on how DeMaria chooses to lead during his time with NASBE. There is a potential for him to introduce new practices and ethics into the company in order to grow.
In terms of values, I believe there were a few changes with the installation of DeMaria as CEO. With his tenure in education, DeMaria already shares most of the values of NASBE. Which is already the goal of NASBE.
I believe this organizational change is very beneficial, both for NASBE and the entire country’s education system. I believe that his transition into being NASBE’s CEO only opens more opportunities for there to be meaningful change in how educational organizations operate.
