Were does all the energy start from ALL the organisms

Answers

Answer:

The sun

Explanation:

The Sun is the major source of energy for organisms and the ecosystems of which they are a part. Producers, such as plants and algae, use energy from sunlight to make food energy by combining carbon dioxide and water to form organic matter. This process begins the flow of energy through almost all food webs.

Answer:

from sun all the energy starts from All the organisms it is the fact that scientist had proven it

Mechanical energy can take on many forms, but these different forms can be categorized as either potential energy or energy of motion. The height an object is dropped from has an effect on the amount of energy in the object. Let’s conduct an experiment to see the effect.
:How does the height of an object affect the amount of mechanical energy it contains?
1:Variables What is the test variable?

Answers

The test variable is the potential energy
"How does the height of an object affect the amount of mechanical energy it contains?"

The height of an object is crucial to the amount of energy something has because the higher up it is the most potential energy it has and kinetic energy it could have.

For example, if the height of a basketball was just a couple inches off the ground, it would not have a large amount of potential energy because because there is not much of a fall between the ball and the ground. However, if the ball was higher, there would be more potential energy because there is more room to fall.

---

"What is the test variable?"

The test variable, or independent variable in this case would be the height, as the scientist is changing the height in order to get different results in the total mechanical energy, which would be the dependent variable.

What do you think? Do you think urbanization should be encouraged or discouraged? Explain why you feel the way you do. (I need a 125-word essay if someone could at least give me a little something to go off of and expand into my own words that would be greatly appreciated)

Answers

I think urbanization has both upsides and downsides, but I think it should be discouraged for a few main reasons. Urbanization creates limited access to land, causing high prices in education, healthcare, food and water, housing, electricity and transport. This leads to an increase in the numbers of homeless people, or people living in insecure, rented housing. Another problem with urbanization is that growing cities lead to more traffic congestion, causing more accidents. Some more problems are presented with decreased air quality in larger cities, and defunded councils. On the other hand, some may see urbanization as a good idea because larger cities do create more job opportunities and more housing for a growing population. Overall, I don’t think urbanization is a good idea, mainly because it creates health risks, and the looming possibility of thousands homeless.

The soil which has more organic matter is clay. Compared to clay, sandy and slit soil has very little amount of organic matter.

What is clay?

Clay is a type of finely grinded soil which contains hydrous aluminosilicates such as kaolin. Clay soil contains more organic matter and it can abstract large amount of water.

Clay develop a plasticity when it is wet but can be brittle and hard when dried. Clay is a type of ceramic material widely used in making potteries. Sandy soil is made of sand particles thus rich in inorganic minerals and contains very less organic matter.

Slit soil is a type of granular soil material which have a size in between that of clay and sandy soil. Slit soil is made by sediment materials carried by water and it can form fertile deposits on valleys. Therefore, the soil type which contains more organic matter is clay.

Describe two things that would happen in an ecosystem if there were no unicellular organisms. Explain why something with only one cell can be considered to be an organism.

Answers

Unicellular organisms include bacteria, protists, and yeast. For example, a paramecium is a slipper-shaped, unicellular organism found in pond water. It takes in food from the water and digests it in organelles known as food vacuoles. Nutrients from the food travel through the cytoplasm to the surrounding organelles, helping to keep the cell, and thus the organism, functioning. Multicellular organisms are composed of more than one cell, with groups of cells differentiating to take on specialized functions. In humans, cells differentiate early in development to become nerve cells, skin cells, muscle cells, blood cells, and other types of cells. One can easily observe the differences in these cells under a microscope. Their structure is related to their function, meaning each type of cell takes on a particular form in order to best serve its purpose. Nerve cells have appendages called dendrites and axons that connect with other nerve cells to move muscles, send signals to glands, or register sensory stimuli.  Outer skin cells form flattened stacks that protect the body from the environment. Muscle cells are slender fibers that bundle together for muscle contraction. The cells of multicellular organisms may also look different according to the organelles needed inside of the cell. For example, muscle cells have more mitochondria than most other cells so that they can readily produce energy for movement; cells of the pancreas need to produce many proteins and have more ribosomes and rough endoplasmic reticula to meet this demand. Although all cells have organelles in common, the number and types of organelles present reveal how the cell functions.

If there were no unicellular organisms available in the ecosystem then there will be no atmospheric nitrogen fixation and no recycling of organic matter into plant usable products.

Unicellular organisms are small single celled organisms that can be observed through microscope but not with naked eye. The unicellular organisms are bacteria, fungi, virus, and protists. If no unicellular organisms are present in the ecosystem then there will be no nitrogen fixation by the soil bacteria like Nostoc, Cyanobacteria, and others. Since, plants cannot utilize atmospheric nitrogen directly so these bacteria convert the atmospheric nitrogen into plant usable form that is ammonia. When no soil bacteria present in the soil ecosystem then the plants will not be able to grow as ammonia is a chief ingredient of many biomolecules in plants. If there will be no unicellular organisms then there will not be any decomposition process of the organic matter and the waste of dead animals, plants, and other living beings will not recycle into plant usable form this will limit plant growth and will also affect the natural cleaning mechanism of ecosystem. Only one cell can be considered an organism if it shows characteristics of an organism like food intake, respiration, reproduction, and growth.

Hence, if there were no unicellular organisms available in the ecosystem then there will be no atmospheric nitrogen fixation and no recycling of organic matter into plant usable products.

People save money in banks, in case of an emergency. Genetic banks serve a similar purpose for farmers and scientists who work to conserve rare plants and animals. Researchers or farmers can withdraw samples from these “gene” banks to help rebuild populations of rare plant varieties and animal breeds or to help increase genetic diversity within species.

Gene banks also preserve cells or organisms that host unusual gene variants — genes with special traits. Those genes might later prove useful when some disease epidemic strikes, when the climate changes or when other factors threaten the survival of plants or animals. Farmers could use the banked deposits — stored cells or tissues — to restore genetic diversity or to introduce traits from other breeds or varieties.

Some gene banks house millions or even billions of plant seeds. One example: the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. It’s located underground on a remote island north of Norway. The San Diego Institute for Conservation Research houses another project, called the Frozen Zoo. Its collection includes cells from thousands of birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians and fish. The cells stored there might one day be used to help rebuild populations of endangered species.

The Smithsonian and SVF Biodiversity Preservation Project in the United States freezes semen and embryos from rare breeds of domestic animals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has an even bigger program. It has almost a million samples of semen, blood and embryos from both common and rare breeds. Such collections serve “as a backup to the United States’ livestock industry,” explains Harvey Blackburn. He’s an animal geneticist. He also manages the National Animal Germplasm Preservation Program at an ARS lab in Fort Collins, Colo.

Gene banks use low temperatures to stop chemical and biological activity that might break down cells. Some banks freeze material in liquid nitrogen at –196° Celsius (-320.8° Fahrenheit). This freezing process replaces water in cells with another fluid, such as glycerol. That fluid minimizes the development of ice crystals. Such crystals could damage cell walls. Later, during thawing, biologists will remove the glycerol or some other fluid and return water to the cells.

Freezing and thawing cells has to be done quickly and carefully so that the material will still be viable after it has warmed back up. But some material requires extra special care.

The sperm from chickens and other poultry, for instance, do not survive the freezing and thawing cycle as well as does the sperm from cows and other mammals. Bird biology partially explains why, says Julie Long. A physiologist, she studies animal reproduction at an ARS lab in Beltsville, Md. Unlike female mammals, hens store sperm for several weeks after a single mating. Then they use those sperm over time to fertilize eggs. So thawed sperm must be very hardy to last such a long while in the female bird’s reproductive tract, she explains.

The shape of the frozen material also can affect how well it survives freezing. Bird sperm looks like a piece of string. That shape makes it more fragile than the sperm of most mammals, which contain a round head and slender tail. Ice crystals can more quickly damage DNA in a bird’s sperm.

But Long and other researchers are working to make the sperm of birds more resilient. “Bird sperm seems to respond better to a very fast freeze,” such as a 200 °C drop in one minute, notes Long. That’s more than three times as fast as the freeze rate necessary to preserve the sperm of mammals.

Observation
Use your senses to make an observation about your environment.
Questions
Create a hypothesis that can be tested in an experiment.
Remember, a hypothesis has a specific "if then" wording. It describes what will happen to the dependent variable when changes are made to the independent variable. For example, "If a plant is fertilized (independent variable), then it will grow faster (dependent variable)."

Design and plan an experiment.
Be sure to identify an independent variable, a dependent variable, and any controls.Remember, controls are factors which stay the same.In an experiment designed to test the previously stated hypothesis, one control would be to use the same kind of plant.Write a complete description of your experiment.Include a list of necessary materials. It is a good idea to follow a step-by-step procedure format.Think of everything you need to do, then write it down in the order it must be completed.Your description and procedure should be clear enough that another person could duplicate your experiment exactly.

Answers

Answer:  E

Explanation:

If the intensity of light (independent variable) is increased, then the rate of photosynthesis (dependent variable) in a plant will also increase.

Experiment Design:

Independent Variable: Intensity of light (Low, Medium, High)
Dependent Variable: Rate of photosynthesis (measured by oxygen production or CO2 consumption)
Control: Same kind of plant, constant temperature, constant CO2 concentration, constant water availability, and constant duration of light exposure.
Materials:

Three identical potted plants (of the same species)
Light source(s) with adjustable intensity
Light meter (lux meter) to measure light intensity
CO2 gas sensor or oxygen gas sensor
Timer or stopwatch
Water supply
Thermometer
Data recording sheets
Procedure:

Set up the three identical potted plants in a controlled environment with the same temperature and CO2 concentration.
Ensure that all plants receive the same amount of water.
Place the light source(s) at an equal distance from the plants.
Measure and record the initial light intensity using the lux meter.
Adjust the light intensity to low for the first plant, medium for the second plant, and high for the third plant.
Start the timer and expose the plants to light for a specified duration (e.g., 1 hour).
During the exposure period, measure and record the temperature, CO2 concentration (if possible), and light intensity at regular intervals.
After the exposure period, use the CO2 gas sensor or oxygen gas sensor to measure the change in CO2 concentration or oxygen production, respectively, in the surrounding air.
Record the data obtained from the sensors and calculate the rate of photosynthesis for each plant.
Repeat the experiment multiple times to ensure reliability and average the results.
Analyze the data collected and compare the rates of photosynthesis among the three different light intensities.
Draw conclusions based on the analysis and determine whether the hypothesis is supported or rejected.
By following this experimental design, you can test the hypothesis and determine the effect of light intensity on the rate of photosynthesis in plants. Remember to conduct the experiment in a controlled environment and gather sufficient data for accurate analysis.
