Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman sometimes referred to as Ibn Saud in the West established the present Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932. Through a series of victories, beginning in 1902 with the seizure of Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, Abdulaziz brought the four areas together into a single state.
Arabia was ruled by Egypt from 1818 until 1824. Egypt, Britain, and the Ottomans fought each other for dominance of the area for the rest of the nineteenth century. Abd al Aziz ibn Abd ar-Rahman Al Saud founded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on September 23, 1932.
