Which Human Activity Contributes To The Formation Of Acid Rain

Answers

Answer 1
Answer is:

(C) burning fossil fuels such as coal and gasoline.

It also contributes to the formation of smog.
Answer 2

Burning fossil fuels such as coal and gasoline

We know that burning fossil fuels, such as coal and gasoline, is a significant human activity that contributes to the formation of acid rain.

When fossil fuels are burned, they release pollutants into the atmosphere, including sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

These pollutants can react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals in the atmosphere to form sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and nitric acid (HNO3), which are major components of acid rain.

Therefore the correct answer is

Burning fossil fuels such as coal and gasoline

The initial water volume in this container was 10.0 mL. When the key was submerged, 3 volumes of displaced water were collected: 0.7 mL, 0.8 mL, and 0.9 mL. What is the volume of the key?
How did you find the volume?

Answers

The volume of the key is 0.8 mL.

Volume of objects using sinker method

An object that floats on water will displace its own volume. In the same vein, an object that sinks in water will displace its own volume.

Thus, in order to find the volume of an object that sinks in water, measure the volume of water that it displaces.

In this case, the water displaced by the key was measured 3 times. The average of the 3 readings will give the volume of the key.

Volume of the key = 0.7 + 0.8 + 0.9/3 = 0.8 mL

Answers

Answer:

Hi (best friend)! Here is what you missed!

Five wave parameters are defined and measured: the time, the frequency, the amplitude, the wavelength, and the speed. The wave length is the time it takes to pass a full phase. The frequency is just the opposite; it's the number of wave cycles that have been completed in a second.

Lets give a wave of water as an example. Its wavelength is the distance from crest to crest or from trough to trough. The wavelength can also be thought of as the distance a wave has traveled after one complete cycle—or one period. The time for one complete up-and-down motion is the simple water wave’s period T. In the figure, the wave itself moves to the right with a wave velocity vw. Its amplitude X is the distance between the resting position and the maximum displacement—either the crest or the trough—of the wave.

Ocean currents - Surface ocean currents can occur on local and global scales and are typically wind-driven, resulting in both horizontal and vertical water movement. Deep ocean currents are density-driven and differ from surface currents in scale, speed, and energy. Water density is affected by the temperature, salinity (saltiness), and depth of the water. The colder and saltier the ocean water, the denser it is. The greater the density differences between different layers in the water column, the greater the mixing and circulation. Density differences in ocean water contribute to a global-scale circulation system, also called the global conveyor belt. The global conveyor belt includes both surface and deep ocean currents that circulate the globe in a 1,000-year cycle. The ocean’s global conveyor belt plays a key role in distributing heat energy and regulating weather and climate. The driving force behind this circulation system is

Hey Lenny lately I’ve been having a rough time in the water cycle. It all started when I was chilling in my favorite location the “glaciars” and suddenly the sun turned me into liquid form. Next thing I know I am hurdling down a river straight into a massive lake. Personally this is my least favorite stage of the water cycle because of kids and bacteria that lurk in the water, very scary things. I didn’t stop at the lake very long, and instead sunk into the soil in a process called collection so I could become ground water. Underground reservoir’s are much more peaceful then lakes and I wanted to stay there. However I was forced up a water well pump shortly after and sent through a long tube. Me and couple of the friends I met on the way were all dispersed over a giant grass feild. Many molecules in the group were captured by the hostile plants but I escaped through the means of evaporation. Currently I have condensed into cloud form and I am roaming the skies looking for you, when you get this let me know and I’ll percipitate in your area! P.s I found this photo of us freezing over in the ice age lollll.

A small gap is left between the rails in the railway track. Analyze the reason.

Answers

Answer:

There could be several possible reasons for a small gap between rails on a railway track, such as:

1. Expansion joints: Railways are designed to allow the tracks to expand and contract with changes in temperature. To accommodate this expansion, small gaps are left between the rail ends and filled with expansion joints or plates.

2. Wear and tear: Over time, the rails may experience wear and tear due to heavy loads, weather conditions, and other factors. As a result, small gaps can appear between the rails.

3. Maintenance: During maintenance activities, rail tracks may be adjusted or replaced, which could lead to small gaps between the rails.

4. Environmental factors: Environmental factors such as soil shifts, earthquakes or other natural disasters can also affect the alignment of the rails, leading to small gaps.

These are some of the possible reasons for a small gap between the rails on a railway track.

Answer:

The small gap left between the rails in a railway track is intentional and serves a specific purpose. This gap is known as the rail joint, and it allows for the expansion and contraction of the rails due to changes in temperature. When the temperature changes, the metal rails will expand or contract, and if they were joined together tightly, they could buckle or become deformed, which could be dangerous for trains passing over them. The rail joint allows the rails to move slightly and prevent damage to the track.

Additionally, the rail joint also allows for maintenance and repairs of the track. If there were no gap between the rails, it would be challenging to replace a damaged rail or perform routine maintenance, such as tightening bolts or lubricating joints. With the rail joint, maintenance personnel can easily access and work on the track.

Overall, the small gap left between the rails in a railway track is intentional and serves a crucial function in ensuring the safety and reliability of the track.
