You are asked to revise the following sentence so it contains no dangling or misplaced modifiers:
We hid behind the bushes waiting for squirrels holding our cameras.
Which choice is the best answer?
There is no revision needed. The original sentence is correct as it is.
Holding our cameras, we hid behind the bushes waiting for squirrels.
Holding our cameras, we waited for squirrels hiding behind the bushes.
We waited for squirrels hiding behind the bushes holding our cameras.
Answer: Holding our cameras, we hid behind the bushes and waited for squirrels.
Explanation:
The original sentence, "We hid behind the bushes waiting for squirrels holding our cameras," contains a dangling modifier. It suggests that the squirrels were holding our cameras instead of us. To correct this, we need to rephrase the sentence so that the subject doing the action is mentioned.
One possible revision is, "Holding our cameras, we hid behind the bushes and waited for squirrels." This revision ensures that the phrase "holding our cameras" correctly modifies "we." It conveys that while holding our cameras, we hid behind the bushes and waited for squirrels.
By rephrasing the sentence, we maintain clarity and remove any imprecision regarding who is holding the cameras and waiting for the squirrels. This revision improves the sentence's structure and eliminates the issue of dangling or misplaced modifiers.

what is the type of organisational pattern of at the head of her class and homeless and why?
what was the effect of this on the reader? what was the purpose of the article?
Answer:
"At the Head of Her Class and Homeless" uses a compare-and-contrast organizational pattern, where the author presents two seemingly contrasting situations (being at the head of her class and being homeless) and explores the relationship between them. The purpose of the article is to highlight the issue of youth homelessness and its impact on education, as well as to raise awareness about the challenges that homeless students face.
The effect on the reader is that it creates a sense of contrast and tension between the academic success of the student and her homelessness, which can challenge the reader's assumptions about what it means to be homeless and the stereotypes that often surround homelessness. It also highlights the difficulties that homeless students face in trying to achieve their educational goals and the need for greater support and resources for this vulnerable population.

Taipei 101’s design is inspired by Taiwanese culture and nature. The shape of the building looks like a bamboo stalk. Bamboo grows in many parts of Asia and symbolizes virtue in Taiwanese culture. It is a flexible, but sturdy plant that grows to high heights. This tall building is also quite resilient. Additionally, the building’s exterior resembles an elongated pagoda. This architectural style was originally built to honor the Buddha. As Buddhism spread throughout Asia during the Han Dynasty, this architectural style became more widespread. Although some of these pagodas are not Buddhist houses of worship anymore, they are still important historical structures that can be seen in many parts of Asia. Numbers also play an important symbolic role in this building. The number of floors, 101, was chosen at the end of the 20th century to celebrate the new 21st century. The building is split into eight sections of eight stories. The number eight represents abundance and good luck in Taiwanese culture. There are also large circular structures on each side of the building to symbolize ancient coins and the wealth they bring. Ahh, 1933. Native American children chasing chickens, the sweet smell of wheat on the air, and- a giant dam? The Grand Coulee dam left an enormous impact. Whether it was a negative or a positive impact, we're going to find out.
While dams are a great way to decrease the use of fossil fuels, construction leaves a massive negative impact. For example, the Grand Coulee Dam made salmon unable to migrate downriver to lay their eggs, thus forcing salmon to overpopulate or die out in that area. Another negative impact on the environment was getting materials to build the dam. I mean, those 12 million cubic yards of concrete had to come from somewhere.
Another notable impact was the death count. Seventy-seven workers died while building the Grand Coulee Dam, and it took eight years to construct it. Even though the 1930s were called the Great Depression, I'm sure these people still had a lot to live for, and these families must have been sorry to see them go.
While there were many negative impacts, the dam still helped society in many ways. For example, it still provides more than twenty-one billion kilowatts of electricity each year, and the energy is clean. Meaning, it doesn't pollute the air or the water.
The environment was also affected healthily. All that extra water helps trees and undergrowth, along with fish and land animals. Crops were also healthier and the economy grew. The dam also provided the power needed to make aluminum, which helped during World War II.
