Answer 2

Answer:

There once was a beautiful maiden named Medusa and she had started a problem with Athena and Athena cursed her. She has been terrorizing sailors and people with the fact that no one could look to her in the eyes or they would turn to stone. Perseus wanted to defeat Medusa and bring the peace back to the people so he was getting prepared to fight against Medusa. When the Gods realized what Perseus was doing they decided to help him during the battle. Athena gave him a shield that would protect Perseus from Medusa’s eyes, Hermes gave him his winged shoes so that he sneak up to Medusa without causing any sound and lastly, Hades gave him a magic helmet that would make him invisible every time he put it on.  Perseus sneaked into the temple and saw how Medusa slithered across the room, he waited until she fell asleep to kill her. He put on Hermes’s shoes and was flying quietly until he came over to Medusa, however Medusa sensed him and woke up! She tried looking to the eyes of Perseus but he had quickly taken out Athena’s shield and he was protected, Medusa tried to attacking him but Perseus put on Hades magic helmet, Medusa couldn’t see him anymore and therefore Perseus took out his sword and sliced Medusa’s head off. Medusa was now dead and peace had been restored across the land.

read the passage from animal farm. Which lines from the passage help develop dramatic irony? Check all that apply

Answers

Answer:

“They were conscious that they were not as other animals.”

“If they worked hard, at least they worked for themselves.”

“All animals were equal.”

Explanation:

You didn't include the entire question and the passage but I'm assuming this is the same one as that below:

None of the old dreams had been abandoned. The Republic of the Animals which Major had foretold, when the green fields of England should be untrodden by human feet, was still believed in. Some day it was coming: it might not be soon, it might not be with in the lifetime of any animal now living, but still it was coming.

. . . It might be that their lives were hard and that not all of their hopes had been fulfilled; but they were conscious that they were not as other animals. If they went hungry, it was not from feeding tyrannical human beings; if they worked hard, at least they worked for themselves. No creature among them went upon two legs. No creature called any other creature “Master.” All animals were equal.

–Animal Farm,

George Orwell

The lines from the passage that  help develop dramatic irony:

“They were conscious that they were not like other animals.” “If they worked hard, at least they worked for themselves.”“All animals were equal.”

How dramatic irony is associated with 'Animal farm'?

Dramatic irony is a literary device in which the reader clearly understands the entire significance of a character's words or actions but the character himself is unaware of it. Dramatic irony occurs when a character's future actions are known to the audience but not to him.

The dramatic irony in the aforementioned words is made possible by the fact that while readers are aware of the plot of the entire book, the animals are only aware of their immediate surroundings. These exchanges produce dramatic irony since the animals' previous way of thinking will change at the end of the story. The other choices, which refer to England's verdant fields or the animals therein, do not have a striking ironic impact.

Answers

If you need different questions from the ones below, let me know and I will try my best to assist.

Questions to use against the narrator:

You yourself entertained the thought that you might be insane, but ultimately brush it aside. You express that you have no reason to kill the man, yet you kill him. This contradiction is proof that while you were insane, you knew what you did was wrong. Why not seek help?

If you truly felt remorse for your actions, why was your first instinct to dispose of the body rather than to immediately confess to your crime?

You spent more than a week setting up this murder. This was not a spur of the moment murder. It was premeditated. Can you justify this? Does this not prove you to be a guilty individual?

You express taking pride in your work. Is this something that a stable, innocent person would do?

Questions for the room:

(I apologize, but I could only come up with ten.)

Is the narrator reliable?

Were his actions justified?

Was his guilt genuine, or was it just an attribute of his psychosis?

Was he truly seeing the ‘evil eye’?

Even if he was, is fear a reason to murder?

Is the beating of the heart evidence of insanity?

He talked about his feelings of power and excitement breaking into the old man’s chamber. Does this not further prove that he should be imprisoned?

Does that not prove that he is not only a murderer, but a person who enjoys the act of killing?

Should a person of this type not be punished and placed where they cannot hurt another person?

This man dismembered a human. If you found a body that had been ripped apart, you would want the person who did it to be put away right?

D During the war, Tubman focused on helping the army free people held in slavery

Answers

Answer:

I think its C because it just fits the first summary

The details should be added to create an effective summary is Tubman’s parents were elderly, so the trip across the country was difficult. The correct option is C.

What is a summary?

A summary is a brief recounting of a larger written text that contains the author's main points. Summarizing improves both you're reading and writing abilities. To summarize, you must carefully study a piece, identifying the key concepts and supporting arguments.

Summarizing is similar to outlining a play's storyline. For instance, if asked to sum up the plot of Shakespeare's "Hamlet," you may respond that it tells the tale of a young prince of Denmark who learns that his mother and uncle had murdered his father, the former king.

Therefore, the correct option is C. Tubman’s parents were elderly, so the trip across the country was difficult.

What is the main effect of Molly's error?
Lemon

A Business Lemon

1 “It all starts with one lemon," Mr. Flores said as he handed the group a lemon. Sarah stared at Mr. Flores as if he had completely lost his mind.

2 "How are we supposed to start a business with only one lemon?" I asked.

3 "Well, Danielle, that is precisely what you must figure out." Mr. Flores smiled. "And once your lemon is gone, you cannot buy another one."

4 Justin, Ramon, and Sarah came over to my house after school so we could plan our strategy. "This is crazy!" Sarah moaned, as she flopped down on the living room floor. "How are we supposed to stay in business with one lemon?"

5 "Let's brainstorm a list of things we could do," I said as I grabbed a nacho to snack on. We sat around the glass coffee table and stared at the lemon.

6 Just then my little sister, Molly, ran into the room. "Danielle! Danielle!" she yelled. She grabbed the lemon and tried to put it in her mouth. Then she wiped her wet sticky fingers all over the glass coffee table.

7 "Oh, great," Justin groaned, "Now we have a mess to clean up and a business to plan."

8 "Hey, that's a pretty good idea," said Ramon, his eyes widening. "My mom mixes water with lemon juice to clean windows."

9 "Good job, Molly," I said. "Your mess is the beginning of our brand new window cleaning business.

10 On Saturday, we all met at Ramon's house. We each brought a couple of plastic jugs, and Sarah brought a wagon. Ramon's mom told us to add two tablespoons of lemon juice to each quart of water. We pulled the wagon down the sidewalk to Mrs. Jenkin's house. She had agreed to be our first customer. Suddenly, I had a great idea. "You can pay us the full amount when we finish," I said, "Or, you can pay us half price and give us a lemon." After all, we weren't buying a lemon, just receiving one as payment.

11 "It sounds like you have a pretty fruitful business!" joked Mr. Flores.

12 "Yeah," Ramon shot back. "And nobody was sour on the idea!" Ramon puckered his lips and crossed his eyes. Everyone laughed, especially Mr. Flores.

What is the main effect of Molly's error?
A
She gets sticky fingers and makes a mess.
B
She gives them a good idea for a business.
C
She learns not to make that mistake again.
D
The entire group gets angry with her.

Answers

Answer:

Its B

Explanation:

This is the main effect of the mistake. At first the group got mad about her getting the table sticky, but that leads up to them getting an idea of starting a business with lemons for cleaning.

The main effect of molly’s error is B She gives them a good idea for business

After Eli finished his homework Eli took the dog for a walk.

Answer:

Eli had walked the dog after he had finished his homework.

Explanation:

Active voice is when the subject does the action (Eli had walked the dog instead of the dog had been walked by Eli) and perfect tense is when an action had happened and uses the verb to have.  Parallel structure is when all of the verbs use the same tense.  (Eli had walked the dog after he had finished his homework, not Eli is walking the dog after he had finished his homework.  it does not make sense because it is using two verb tenses.)

In the background section, you read that Neruda does not “believe in symbols “. What do you think the tuna means to him? Review your reading notes, and remember to cite text evidence in your response.

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

In the background section, the narrator states that Neruda “did not believe in symbols” (Paz, pg. 5). However, this does not mean that Neruda does not have associations with certain objects. In the poem, Neruda talks about a tuna, which he describes as “the sea’s most beloved daughter” (Paz, pg. 6). This description implies that Neruda has a deep appreciation and respect for the tuna, as well as the sea. He also uses the tuna to symbolize his love for his homeland and the beauty of the sea. This is evidenced by his description of the tuna swimming “like a solitary voice in the night” (Paz, pg. 6). This suggests that Neruda views the tuna as a metaphor for his own loneliness and longing for his homeland. Thus, it can be inferred that the tuna means a great deal to Neruda, even if he does not necessarily believe in symbols.

Answer:According to the background section, Neruda does not believe in symbols. He states, "I do not believe in symbols, I believe in things" (pg. 34). This suggests that for Neruda, the tuna does not represent anything other than what it is - a fish. He does not see it as a symbol for something else, such as a metaphor for a larger concept. Instead, he values the tuna for its own physical and natural characteristics. He describes the tuna in detail, noting its "gigantic, moon-colored body" and "silver-blue scales" (pg. 34). He also expresses admiration for its strength and endurance, stating that it is "a tireless fish, a fish that can swim for days" (pg. 34). Thus, it can be inferred that the tuna means to Neruda simply as a fish with physical features that can be admired and appreciated.

Mythology, in the time of ancient Greece, was used not only to explain various phenomena that we now understand via scientific truths, but to account for the origins of humankind. It answered questions like, “What happens after death?” and, “Why does humanity exist at all?” Myths were also often entertaining, and sometimes humorous and intriguing; remember that there weren’t TV episodes or movies in ancient Greece, so people had to entertain themselves in other ways. But more than that, myths told people how to live, and how to tell right from wrong. These stories included morals intended to teach valuable life lessons and instill ethics in their readers.
