Internal factors of decision-making refer to the individual's internal processes and characteristics that influence their decision-making process. These factors can vary from person to person and can significantly impact the choices they make. Here are some key internal factors:
Beliefs and Values: Personal beliefs and values play a crucial role in decision-making. These are the principles, ethics, and moral standards that individuals hold dear. Decisions often align with these core beliefs and values, as they guide individuals in choosing options that are consistent with their personal code of conduct.
Cognitive Biases: Cognitive biases are inherent tendencies or patterns of thinking that can affect decision-making. These biases can lead to deviations from rational decision-making and may include confirmation bias (favoring information that confirms existing beliefs), availability bias (relying on readily available information), or anchoring bias (over-reliance on initial information).
Emotional State: Emotions can strongly influence decision-making processes. Positive or negative emotions can impact how individuals evaluate options and make choices. For example, a person experiencing fear may be more risk-averse, while someone in a positive mood may be more open to taking risks.
Personal Goals and Motivation: The goals individuals set for themselves and their level of motivation can impact decision-making. Decisions are often made in pursuit of specific goals, whether they are short-term objectives or long-term aspirations. The level of motivation and commitment to these goals can influence the decision-making process.
Past Experiences and Learning: Previous experiences and knowledge acquired over time can shape decision-making. Lessons learned from past successes or failures can impact the choices individuals make in similar situations. These experiences provide a basis for evaluating options and anticipating potential outcomes.

Dicey decided to tell him the truth. "Just in case. I mean, three kids in a car in a parking lot at night . . . See, James, I think we’ve got to get to Bridgeport and I just don’t know what would happen if a policeman saw us. Foster homes or something, I dunno. I don’t want to risk it. Cell Phone Use in Schools
By: A Berryville H.S. Student
Cell phone use in schools is a popular topic in education. Parents and teachers view cell phones as a distraction and as a way for students to cyberbully.
Unfortunately, the emphasis on the downsides has caused the benefits of cell phone use to be overlooked.
Cell phones are a very powerful tool. Students can use them as calculators and Global Positioning Systems. Many students rely on their cell phones to do research and submit files for their assignments. This is especially important when schools can't afford adequate technology for their students. Cell phones are also used for parent communication. Parents can allow their children to walk to and from school knowing that they can instantly contact their child in the event of an emergency.
These are only a few of the many benefits that cell phones provide students. Banning cell phone use in schools would be doing a big disservice to education.
Evaluate the above article. Explain why this article did or did not convince you of the opinion of the author. Who might have a different opinion?
Here is what I wrote (put into Quillbot to avoid plagiarism):
The author of this article argues that cell phones have significant benefits in schools, such as their ability to assist in research, file submission, and parent communication. The author also points out that banning cell phone use in schools would harm education.
The author presents a compelling argument by highlighting the advantages of cell phone use in schools. However, the author could have provided more information about the negative aspects of cell phone use in schools, such as the potential for distraction and cyberbullying.
Someone who might disagree with the author's opinion could be a teacher or parent who believes that cell phones are a distraction and can be used for cyberbullying. They may argue that schools should provide adequate technology and resources for students rather than relying on cell phones. Additionally, they may suggest that cell phone use should be limited to emergency situations and not be permitted for general use during school hours.
In conclusion, while the article makes a strong case for the benefits of cell phone use in schools, it could have benefited from a more nuanced discussion of the topic.

Animal Farm Chapter 9
Describe the living conditions for all of the animals, the pigs, and the dogs. How does Squealer justify their situation to the rest of the animals? Be specific.
Answer:
Animal Farm is a novel written by George Orwell that depicts a tale of farm animals who overthrow their human caretakers in pursuit of a society where animals govern themselves. As the story unfolds, readers see the living conditions on the farm deteriorate, especially for the common animals. The pigs and the dogs, however, seem to live rather comfortable lives, justifying their situation through propaganda disseminated by the eloquent Squealer.
Squealer uses propaganda to justify the unequal treatment of the animals and to convince them that it is necessary for the greater good of the farm.
In Chapter 9 of Animal Farm, the living conditions of the animals on the farm have deteriorated. The pigs, dogs, and other privileged animals have access to more resources and are treated better than the other animals. The pigs and dogs are better fed and live in better living quarters than the other animals.
Despite the substandard living conditions, Squealer justifies their situation to the rest of the animals. He claims that the pigs, dogs, and other privileged animals are working harder than everyone else. He says that they are doing so to ensure that the other animals on the farm have a better life. Squealer also says that the pigs are more intelligent than the other animals and therefore need more resources to maintain their intelligence.
Additionally, he argues that the pigs need a quiet environment to be able to think and plan properly. Squealer further claims that the dogs are essential for maintaining law and order on the farm and that they need to be kept healthy and strong in case of any threats to the farm.
