Answer 1

Answer and Explanation:

I tend to misspell the word immediately. It is common for me to begin to type it as “imeadiately”. To avoid making such mistake, I remember two things. First, that the root word already has an “m”. Therefore, when adding the prefix, it will have two “m’s” – the one belonging to the root word and the one belonging to the prefix. Finally, I remember how the root word is spelled. For some reason, I have no problem spelling “mediate”. Thus, I recall this word so that I won’t misspell the one that is derived from it.

NOTE: I know there are much more than 25 words above. Feel free to edit as much as you like.

Christopher Reeve was born on September 25, 1952, in New York City. His mother was a journalist, and his father was a professor. As a kid he played sports, did well in school, and liked acting. His passion for acting goes back to playing with his brother when they were little. Reeve acted in his first play at the age of nine. After attending college, taking acting classes, and acting in many plays and movies, Reeve landed his biggest role. In 1978, he played the title role in Superman. He received very positive reviews for his performance and starred as Superman in all the sequels. Reeve was soon acting as the lead role in dozens of movies after Superman. Once well-known, Reeve used his celebrity status for good causes, such as visiting very sick children through the Make-A-Wish foundation. He was also a track and field coach at the Special Olympics.

Besides acting, Reeve was also a licensed pilot and liked horseback riding. He learned to ride horses for a movie role, and he continued riding in his free time. Unfortunately, while riding one day in 1995, Reeve fell from his horse and became paralyzed from the neck down. Being confined to a wheelchair did not hold back Reeve from being socially active, and after many surgeries and rehabilitation, he decided to dedicate his life to helping people with spinal-cord injuries. He created the Christopher Reeve Foundation, which supports the improvement of the lives of people with disabilities and helps fund research to find a cure for paralysis. He was also politically active, working with senators to make sure that people with disabilities were treated fairly in the workplace. Reeve received many awards for his dedication to public service. He also wrote two books about his experiences, and a documentary was made about his life. Reeve passed away in 2004, but his legacy lives on today. 2. Is the speaker's reaction to losing Annabel Lee similar to or different than that of Orpheus?

Answers

The speaker's reaction to losing Annabel Lee in Edgar Allan Poe's poem is different than that of Orpheus in Greek mythology. In the poem, the speaker is consumed by grief and remains fixated on Annabel Lee, even after her death.

He mourns her intensely and believes that his love for her can transcend death itself. In contrast, Orpheus, who was a legendary musician, also experienced profound grief when he lost his wife, Eurydice. However, instead of being consumed by his sorrow, he turned to music as a way of coping with his loss. He used his music to appeal to the gods, hoping to be reunited with his wife in the afterlife.

Thus, while both the speaker in Poe's poem and Orpheus experienced the pain of losing a loved one, they had different reactions to their loss. The speaker remained focused on Annabel Lee, while Orpheus turned to music as a means of coping with his grief.

What was the average annual increase in median wages over this 24-year period? OA) 4.58% B) 2.60% C) 1.31% D) 4.50% An annuity is a series of OA) equal cash payments at regular intervals across time B) variable cash payments at regular intervals across time OC) equal cash payments at different intervals across time OD) variable cash payments at different intervals across time

Answers

1. The future value three years from today of a $200 three-year annuity due compounded at a rate of 10% is equal to $662.00. Therefore, the correct option is C.

2.  The average annual increase in median wages over the 24-year period is 1.31%. Therefore, the correct option is C.

3. An annuity is a series of equal cash payments at regular intervals across time. Therefore, the correct option is A.

1. To calculate this future value, we can use the formula:

FV = PMT x ((1 + r)^n - 1) / r

where FV is the future value, PMT is the payment amount, r is the interest rate, and n is the number of periods.

Since the annuity is due, we need to multiply the result by (1 + r) to account for the additional compounding at the beginning of each period.

PMT = $200, r = 10% per year, n = 3 years

FV = $200 x ((1 + 0.10)^3 - 1) / 0.10 x (1 + 0.10)

FV = $200 x (1.331 - 1) / 0.10 x 1.10

FV = $200 x 0.331 / 0.121

FV = $546.28

Multiplying this by (1 + 0.10) gives the future value at the beginning of year 4:

FV = $546.28 x (1 + 0.10)

FV = $600.90

The closest option is C: $662.00.

2. We can calculate average annual increase in median wages by using the formula:

average annual increase = (final amount / initial amount)^1/n - 1

where n is the number of years.

Here, the final amount is the median wage in 2014, and the initial amount is the median wage in 1990. Therefore:

final amount = $53,675, initial amount = $28,960, n = 24 years

average annual increase = ($53,675 / $28,960)^1/24 - 1

average annual increase = 1.0131 - 1

average annual increase = 0.0131 or 1.31%

Therefore, option C is correct.

3. An annuity is a series of equal cash payments at regular intervals across time. This is the definition of an annuity. Therefore, option A is correct.

San Francisco as many hills
San Francisco is a city in California

Can someone help me turn this into a Appositive sentence

Answers

Answer:

San Francisco, a city in California, has many hills.

Explanation:

An appositive is a noun or noun phrase that comes before or after another noun and identifies or explains it. Just like in this case, the appositive usually comes after the noun it refers to and is framed by commas.

The second sentence gives us additional information about San Francisco. In other words, it explains what San Francisco is. This is why we can use it to expand the first sentence by turning it into an appositive. That is how we'll get the following sentence:

San Francisco, a city in California, has many hills.

CHARACTERS: PETER, the father DINA, the mother FRANKIE, the older son JEREMIAH, the younger son Stage Set: The living room. The author creates suspense through Dina's words. B. The characters are unaware of each others' thoughts. C. The author uses dramatic irony to create humor.

We can arrive at this answer because:

Dramatic irony lets readers know the information the characters don't.This can be seen in the text shown above, as the reader already knows about the ink on the rug and who spilled it even before the other characters know.
