The compound criteria (conditions) are created by using which of the following two keywords? a. AND, OR b. AND, NOR c. OR, NOT d. NOT, ONLY.

Answers

The compound criteria or conditions are created by using the keywords "AND" and "OR".

In data analysis, "AND" and "OR" are known as Boolean operators, which are used to combine criteria or conditions to filter data. "AND" is used when both criteria must be true in order for a record to be included in the result set, while "OR" is used when either one of the criteria is true.

For example, in a database of employee records, a search for employees who are both male and have a salary above a certain threshold would use the "AND" operator to combine these criteria. Conversely, a search for employees who are either male or have a salary above the threshold would use the "OR" operator.

The use of Boolean operators allows for complex search queries to be constructed that can filter large datasets efficiently and accurately. Other Boolean operators such as "NOT" and "XOR" can also be used to further refine search criteria as needed.

Answer:

Dear diary,

I know I haven't written in you for awhile, but I've been busy with school. I had a really cool teacher this year that helped me through US History. Okay, it took a bit of energy and yeah maybe it wasn't personally fun fighting with myself to remember answers, but he had a game that helped me practice and beat the tests and quizes. At the time I was in class he waited until everyone was done with notes and gave us a free 100% for every chapter notes we finished. He helped everyone and got them finished in time.

I hope I have this teacher again next year.

Dear diary,

I have many pet peeves...

- People who can’t FREAKIN cover themselves when they sneeze or cough!

- People who interrupt when I am speaking

- Slow Walkers

- Rude/Slow drivers

- Know-it-all’s

- Someone leaving the water running and same goes for lights

- People who talk while their mouth is full

And that’s all I could think of..and these bother me because they just do. Like it’s rude, unhygienic, and not environmentally friendly.

Answer:

Entry 1.

 Today was a really irking day for me as my best friend Camryn just scratched up my chalkboard. It really makes me feel irritated and really frustrating. Yet, she is my best friend so I couldn't say much about the feeling to her. Whenever someone scratches the chalkboard and particularly mine it makes me cringe a lot and I even cry out of irritation. That's my biggest pet peeve that I cringe for. I feel as if I am going to itch. When Camryn left, I kept myself calm for sometime but I couldn't stop myself from drawing random stuff on my board and getting annoyed. But when I thought of what I've done over and over again, I thought that there's nothing much to really cringe for and I thought I must change this habit. I kept scratching my board with my ruler, paper knife and other objects and after a couple of minutes, I felt fine and happy.

Entry 2-

Today my mom and I were in the McDonalds drive through when we pulled up to the window to pay and we were told “The person in front of you paid for your meal”. My mom thought that was sweet so she decided to pay it forward and pay for the people behind us. The situation made me think of what paying it forward really means. The true meaning of pay it forward is an expression for when the recipient of an act of kindness does something kind for someone else rather than simply accepting or repaying the original good deed. I feel that everyone should always do good deeds for others and when receiving a good deed they should pay the kindness forward, it would make our world a much kinder place.

Entry 3-

Yesterday I was playing in my senior homecoming basketball game when I took a wrong step and couldn't bear to walk anymore.The athletics team rushed out to me and I was carried off of the court. Eventually I was put in the ambulance and taken to our local hospital where I found out I had tore my ACL. I got to come home early this morning and I got the news that I wouldn't be able to play the rest of my senior year as an ACL injury will take at least 6 months to heal. I was very upset, my last year playing high school basketball had been cut short and this injury would affect my scholarship.I was currently facing adversity. To deal with this adversity I started surrounding myself with positive people, sitting outside and being in nature for fresh air, and I write a lot in my journal to get my thoughts out. All of this has made me feel much better.

Read the excerpt from Enrique's Journey.

Moreover, the Mara Salvatrucha street gangsters, some deported from Los Angeles, always prowl the train tops looking for sleepers. Many MS gangsters settle in Chiapas after committing crimes in the United States and being expelled to their home countries in Central America. The police in Chiapas are more forgiving of gangs than those in El Salvador or Honduras.

[...]

E. It supports the idea that the gangsters are involved in criminal activities.

Answer:

The meaning of the underlined word, prowl, support the author's purpose in this excerpt because:

C. It indicates that the gangsters are looking for vulnerable  people.

E. It supports the idea that the gangsters are involved in criminal activities.

Explanation:

The verb to prowl refers to someone moving around stealthily with the purpose of finding a prey. When the author chose that verb to describe the way the gangsters act, she wanted to convey the idea that they prey on other people, that they are involved in crimes. Gangsters look for vulnerable people on train tops, according to the excerpt, certainly with the purpose of robbing them. It is as if they are predators, prowling around a forest to find their prey.

the velocity of a particle is defined as v(t)={0.8t2i+12t1/2j+5k}m/s.

Answers

The magnitude of the acceleration is 12.32 m/s^2, and the direction angles α, β, γ are 20.11 degrees, 23.98 degrees, and 65.67 degrees, respectively.

To find the acceleration of the particle, we need to take the time derivative of the velocity function:

a(t) = dv(t)/dt = [1.6ti + 6/t^1/2 j]

Now, we can substitute t=2.6s to get the acceleration at that time:

a(2.6) = [1.6(2.6)i + 6/2.6^1/2 j]

      = [4.16i + 11.63j]

The magnitude of the acceleration is:

|a| = √(a_x^2 + a_y^2 + a_z^2)

   = √(4.16^2 + 11.63^2 + 5^2)

   = 12.32 m/s^2

The direction angles can be found using the following equations:

α = tan^-1(a_x/a_y)

β = tan^-1(a_z/|a_xy|)

γ = tan^-1(|a_xy|/a_z)

where |a_xy| = √(a_x^2 + a_y^2)

Substituting the values, we get:

α = tan^-1(4.16/11.63) = 20.11 degrees

β = tan^-1(5/√(4.16^2 + 11.63^2)) = 23.98 degrees

γ = tan^-1(√(4.16^2 + 11.63^2)/5) = 65.67 degrees

Therefore, the magnitude of the acceleration is 12.32 m/s^2, and the direction angles α, β, γ are 20.11 degrees, 23.98 degrees, and 65.67 degrees, respectively.

Complete question: If the velocity of a particle is defined as v(t)=[0.8t2i+12t1/2j+5k] m/s, determine the magnitude and coordinate direction angles α, β, γ of the particles acceleration when t=2.6 s.

In sonnet

Explanation:

The sonnet is an effective way for Romeo and Juliet to speak when they first meet for two reasons. First, sonnets were often about love. Therefore, it is fitting that they would speak in a sonnet when they first meet. Second, a sonnet is a 14-line poem. When they first meet, Romeo and Juliet share a sonnet, as their lines are distributed over the 14 lines. Their words join together to form a single poem, making this the second reason it is fitting for them to speak in sonnet.

What does Fredrick Douglass tell Mr.Thomas about his time at Mr.Covey's?

Answers

Edward Covey represents Douglass’s nemesis in the Narrative. Covey is a typical villain figure in that his cruelty is calculated. He is not a victim of the slavery mentality but a naturally evil man who finds an outlet for his cruelty in slaveholding. Covey is skilled and methodical in his physical punishment of his slaves, but he is even more skilled at psychological cruelty. While other slaveholders in the Narrative can be deceitful with their slaves, Covey uses deception as his primary method of dealing with them. He makes the slaves feel that they are under constant surveillance by lying to them and creeping around the fields in an effort to catch them being lazy.

One way in which Douglass portrays Covey as a villain is by depicting him as anti-Christian. The slaves call Covey “the snake,” in part because he sneaks through the grass, but also because this nickname is a reference to Satan’s appearance in the form of a snake in the biblical book of Genesis. Douglass also presents Covey as a false Christian. Covey tries to deceive himself and God into believing that he is a true Christian, but his evil actions reveal him to be a sinner. As Douglass associates himself with Christian faith, he heightens the sense of conflict between himself and Covey by showing Covey to be an enemy of Christianity itself.

As Douglass’s nemesis, Covey is the chief figure against whom Douglass defines himself. Douglass’s fight with Covey is the climax of the Narrative—it marks Douglass’s turning point from demoralized slave to confident, freedom-seeking man. Douglass achieves this transformation by matching and containing Covey’s own violence and by showing himself to be Covey’s opposite. Douglass thus emerges as brave man, while Covey is exposed as a coward. Douglass is shown to be capable of restraint, while Covey is revealed to be an excessive braggart. Finally, Douglass emerges as a leader of men, while Covey is shown to be an ineffectual master who cannot even enlist the aid of another slave, Bill, to help him.
