Answer:
Explanation:
While there were many political and cultural differences between the North and the South that contributed to the American Civil War, the main cause of the war was slavery.
Below I will discuss the impact slavery had in leading up to the war as well as some of the differences between the two sides that led to such a great divide.
Slavery At the heart of the divide between the North and the South was slavery. The South relied on slavery for labor to work the fields. Many people in the North believed that slavery was wrong and evil. These people were called abolitionists. They wanted slavery to be illegal throughout the United States. Abolitionists such as Frederick Douglass, John Brown, Harriet Tubman, and Harriet Beecher Stowe began to convince more and more people of the evil of slavery. This made wealthy landowners in the South fearful that their way of life would come to an end. States' Rights The idea of states' rights was not new to the Civil War.
Since the Constitution was first written there had been arguments about how much power the states should have versus how much power the federal government should have. The southern states felt that the federal government was taking away their rights and powers. Expansion As the United States continued to expand westward, each new state added to the country shifted the power between the North and the South. Southern states began to fear they would lose so much power that they would lose all their rights.
Each new state became a battleground between the two sides for power. Industry vs. Farming In the mid-1800s, the economies of many northern states had moved away from farming to industry. A lot of people in the North worked and lived in large cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. The southern states, however, had maintained a large farming economy and this economy was based on slave labor. While the North no longer needed slaves, the South relied heavily upon slaves for their way of life.
Bleeding Kansas The first fighting over the slavery issue took place in Kansas. In 1854, the government passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act allowing the residents of Kansas to vote on whether they would be a slave state or a free state. The region was flooded with supporters from both sides. They fought over the issue for years. Several people were killed in small skirmishes giving the confrontation the name Bleeding Kansas. Eventually Kansas entered the Union as a free state in 1861.
Abraham Lincoln The final straw for the South was election of Abraham Lincoln to President of the United States. Abraham Lincoln was a member of the new anti-slavery Republican Party. He managed to get elected without even being on the ballot in ten of the southern states. The southern states felt that Lincoln was against slavery and also against the South.

Factory owners during the Industrial Revolution began to increase their demand for textiles due to the demand for mass production and consumer goods. To keep up with this, factories began to utilize new technologies such as mechanization and factory systems.
The use of these technologies led to an increase in production capacity, as well as improvements in efficiency, allowing factories to produce large quantities of textiles in a short period of time. Additionally, factories increased their use of labor, often relying on poor and uneducated workers to power their production.
As a result, workers faced long hours, low wages, and hazardous conditions, leading to the rise of labor movements and reforms. Furthermore, the shift to factory production created a need for more raw materials, such as cotton and wool, leading to new trade routes and colonial expansion.

why did the colonies shift from an indentured servant labor force to a slave labor force?
The colonies shifted from an indentured servant labor force to a slave labor force primarily due to the increased demand for labor and the declining availability of indentured servants, along with the development of a profitable and reliable transatlantic slave trade.
In the early colonial period, indentured servants were a significant source of labor. However, as the colonies expanded and the demand for labor grew, particularly in agriculture and the cultivation of cash crops like tobacco, the number of Europeans willing to become indentured servants began to decrease. Many indentured servants were also able to gain their freedom after fulfilling their contracts, further reducing the pool of available labor.
Meanwhile, the transatlantic slave trade provided a steady and reliable supply of enslaved Africans who could be forced to work for life, making them a more attractive option for plantation owners seeking a consistent labor force. The increasing profitability of cash crops also made it economically viable for plantation owners to invest in the more expensive purchase of enslaved people, rather than relying on the temporary labor of indentured servants.
Furthermore, laws were enacted in the colonies that further entrenched the institution of slavery, such as laws that ensured the children of enslaved mothers would also be enslaved. This shift to a slave labor force facilitated the growth of the plantation economy in the American colonies, which would have lasting impacts on the social, economic, and political development of the United States.

How did the eastern question affect the austro hungrarian empire?
Answer:
in diplomatic history, the Eastern Question was the issue of the political and economic instability in the Ottoman Empire from the late 18th to early 20th centuries and the subsequent strategic competition and political considerations of the European great powers in light of this. Characterized as the "sick man of Europe", the relative weakening of the empire's military strength in the second half of the eighteenth century threatened to undermine the fragile balance of power system largely shaped by the Concert of Europe. The Eastern Question encompassed myriad interrelated elements: Ottoman military defeats, Ottoman institutional insolvency, the ongoing Ottoman political and economic modernization programme, the rise of ethno-religious nationalism in its provinces, and Great Power rivalries.[1]
While there is no specific date on which the Eastern Question began, the Russo-Turkish War (1828–29) brought the issue to the attention of the European powers, Russia and Britain in particular. As the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire was believed to be imminent, the European powers engaged in a power struggle to safeguard their military, strategic and commercial interests in the Ottoman domains. Imperial Russia stood to benefit from the decline of the Ottoman Empire; on the other hand, Austria-Hungary and Great Britain deemed the preservation of the Empire to be in their best interests. The Eastern Question was put to rest after the First World War, one of the outcomes of which was the collapse and division of the Ottoman holdings.

What were the potential costs? Is there any evidence that the 2012 free trade deal between the United States and South Korea was a "job killer" as claimed by President Trump? What were the motivations of the Trump Administration in renegotiating the 2012 deal?
The Obama Administration pursued a trade deal with South Korea in 2012, known as the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement, as part of the Obama Administration’s goal to double exports.
The potential economic benefits were twofold: increased access to a large market and increased competitiveness in goods and services. The potential political benefits were an improved relationship between the United States and South Korea, which would further increase the economic relationship.
The potential costs included job losses for U.S. industries that could not compete with the cheaper goods and services produced by South Korea. Additionally, U.S. government subsidies would have to be provided to some U.S. industries that could not compete.
There is some evidence that the 2012 free trade deal between the United States and South Korea was a job killer, as President Trump has claimed. A 2019 Economic Policy Institute report found that the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement resulted in a net loss of 159,000 jobs, mostly in the manufacturing sector.
The Trump Administration's motivations in renegotiating the 2012 deal were twofold: to reduce the U.S. trade deficit and to open up South Korea's markets to more U.S. exports.
Additionally, the Trump Administration sought to renegotiate certain labor and environmental provisions of the original deal, as well as certain provisions related to automobile imports.
