Answer:In the first six years of Adolf Hitler's dictatorship, Jews felt the effects of more than 400 decrees and regulations on all aspects of their lives. The regulations gradually but systematically took away their rights and property, transforming them from citizens into outcasts. Many of the laws were national ones issued by the German administration, affecting all Jews. State, regional, and municipal officials also issued many decrees in their own communities. As Nazi leaders prepared for war in Europe, antisemitic legislation in Germany and Austria paved the way for more radical persecution of Jews.

What was it? Or am I too late?

In 1910, just before Marie Curie collected her second Nobel Prize for radioactivity, young György Hevesy arrived in England to study radioactivity himself. His university’s lab director in Manchester, Ernest Rutherford, immediately assigned Hevesy the Herculean task of separating out radioactive atoms from nonradioactive atoms inside blocks of lead. Actually, it turned out to be not Herculean but impossible. Rutherford had assumed the radioactive atoms, known as radium-D, were a unique substance. In fact, radium-D was radioactive lead and therefore could not be separated chemically. Ignorant of this, Hevesy wasted two years tediously trying to tease lead and radium-D apart before giving up.

Hevesy—a bald, droopy-cheeked, mustached aristocrat from Hungary—also faced domestic frustrations. Hevesy was far from home and used to savory Hungarian food, not the English cooking at his boardinghouse. After noticing patterns in the meals served there, Hevesy grew suspicious that, like a high school cafeteria recycling Monday’s hamburgers into Thursday’s beef chili, his landlady’s “fresh” daily meat was anything but. When confronted, she denied this, so Hevesy decided to seek proof.

Miraculously, he’d achieved a breakthrough in the lab around that time. He still couldn’t separate radium-D, but he realized he could flip that to his advantage. He’d begun musing over the possibility of injecting minute quantities of dissolved lead into a living creature and then tracing the element’s path, since the creature would metabolize the radioactive and nonradioactive lead the same way, and the radium-D would emit beacons of radioactivity as it moved. If this worked, he could actually track molecules inside veins and organs, an unprecedented degree of resolution.

Before he tried this on a living being, Hevesy decided to test his idea on the tissue of a nonliving being, a test with an ulterior motive. He took too much meat at dinner one night and, when the landlady’s back was turned, sprinkled “hot” lead over it. She gathered his leftovers as normal, and the next day Hevesy brought home a newfangled radiation detector from his lab buddy, Hans Geiger. Sure enough, when he waved it over that night’s goulash, Geiger’s counter went furious: click-click-click-click. Hevesy confronted his landlady with the evidence. But, being a scientific romantic, Hevesy no doubt laid it on thick as he explained the mysteries of radioactivity. In fact, the landlady was so charmed to be caught so cleverly, with the latest tools of forensic science, she didn’t even get mad. There’s no historical record of whether she altered her menu, however.

But was I wrong! In fact, it was the best week ever! I went horseback riding and participated in a ropes activity with a zip line course. After the course, I climbed to the top of a pole using only ropes and carabiner clips, and then I rappelled off the top. I even made a new best friend. Oh, by the way, the food was delicious. In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is the greaser Ponyboy Curtis a reliable first-person narrator? If so Why or why not. Write a 8-10 sentence paragraph on why Ponyboy was a reliable narrator ( I'll give brainliest) NEEDED ASAP

Answers

Answer:

He. Was. A. Good. Narator. Because. He. Spoke. The. Truth

Explanation:

Ponyboy was not a reliable first person narrator. Although the POV of the story was a new and interesting perspective contrary to the ones we’ve seen in the past, it isn’t exactly reliable. If the story was told from a third-person perspective, it would likely have painted Ponyboy and Johnny as the antagonists since they killed Bob. Since it was from his perspective, they were seen as the protagonists while Bob was seen as an antagonist, even though he didn’t do much wrong. It’s a biased perspective, towards the gang and himself, so it’s likely to be less reliable. If it was written from the perspective of one of the Socs, like Bob or Cherry, it’d likely be biased as well, towards the other side. They would have been more inclined to tell the story with a positive light shone on them. I think that Ponyboy was a good narrator in the way he told the story, but you couldn’t consider him reliable for these reasons.

It is well known that the United States has been on a quest to move towards “green” energy sources such as solar power and wind turbines. There are obvious benefits to these sources, in that they are renewable, cleaner, and reduce our dependence on oil and natural gas. But is that the whole story? Read the two texts that follow. Then write an informational essay describing the possible disadvantages or drawbacks regarding the production and use of “green” energy.

Before you begin planning and writing, read the two texts:

1. Potential Environmental Impacts and Obstacles of Solar Energy

2. Environmental Impacts of Wind Power

As you read the texts, think about what details from the texts you might use in your essay. After reading the texts, create a plan for your informative essay. Think about ideas, facts, definitions, details, and other information and examples you want to use. Think about how you will introduce your topic and what the main topic will be for each paragraph.

REMEMBER: A well-written informative text:
• Introduces the topic to be examined.
• Develops the topic with specific facts, details, definitions, examples, and other relevant information from both passages.
• Organizes the information and evidence effectively.
• Uses words, phrases, and/or clauses to connect and show the relationship among your ideas.
• Establishes and maintains a formal style.
• Provides a concluding statement or section that follows from and supports the information presented.

Cell Phone Use in Schools
By: A Berryville H.S. Student
Cell phone use in schools is a popular topic in education. Parents and teachers view cell phones as a distraction and as a way for students to cyberbully.
Unfortunately, the emphasis on the downsides has caused the benefits of cell phone use to be overlooked.
Cell phones are a very powerful tool. Students can use them as calculators and Global Positioning Systems. Many students rely on their cell phones to do research and submit files for their assignments. This is especially important when schools can't afford adequate technology for their students. Cell phones are also used for parent communication. Parents can allow their children to walk to and from school knowing that they can instantly contact their child in the event of an emergency.
These are only a few of the many benefits that cell phones provide students. Banning cell phone use in schools would be doing a big disservice to education.

Evaluate the above article. Explain why this article did or did not convince you of the opinion of the author. Who might have a different opinion?

Answers

Here is what I wrote (put into Quillbot to avoid plagiarism):

The author of this article argues that cell phones have significant benefits in schools, such as their ability to assist in research, file submission, and parent communication. The author also points out that banning cell phone use in schools would harm education.

The author presents a compelling argument by highlighting the advantages of cell phone use in schools. However, the author could have provided more information about the negative aspects of cell phone use in schools, such as the potential for distraction and cyberbullying.

Someone who might disagree with the author's opinion could be a teacher or parent who believes that cell phones are a distraction and can be used for cyberbullying. They may argue that schools should provide adequate technology and resources for students rather than relying on cell phones. Additionally, they may suggest that cell phone use should be limited to emergency situations and not be permitted for general use during school hours.

In conclusion, while the article makes a strong case for the benefits of cell phone use in schools, it could have benefited from a more nuanced discussion of the topic.

This author is wonderful at writing and word choices. This article is very convincing for this topic. A plus right here. The writer is clearly for cell phones in school. Congratulations on this. ✨

35% of professional athletes suffer from mental health issues at some point in their career write a paragraph explaining why this is happening what is contributing to the rise in this number ?

Answers

The high rate of mental health issues among professional athletes, at 35%, is likely due to a combination of factors. One of the main contributing factors is the intense pressure and high-stress environment that athletes face on a daily basis. This can include pressure to perform well, pressure to maintain physical fitness, and pressure to maintain a positive image in the media. Additionally, athletes often experience intense physical and emotional demands, which can take a toll on their mental health. Another contributing factor is the isolation and loneliness that can come with being a professional athlete. Athletes often spend long periods of time away from their friends and family, and may not have a strong support system in place. Furthermore, the high-pressure and high-stress environment can make it difficult for athletes to open up and seek help when they need it. Moreover, the rise of social media and the constant presence of athletes in the public eye has made the pressure they experience more intense and the scrutiny they are under more constant. Overall, the high rate of mental health issues among professional athletes is likely due to a combination of factors, including the intense pressure and high-stress environment of being a professional athlete, isolation and loneliness, and the constant pressure of being in the public eye.

People who are athletes are in high stress areas. They are also very relied on. Take into account the amount of people watching them when they play.
They know that if they mess up, everyone knows. Those are some reasons for this.

An Analysis of the Association between Pollution Disclosure and Economic PerformanceMartin Freedman, Bikki JaggiAccounting, Auditing & Accountability JournalPublication date: 1 December 1988AbstractThe association between the extentof pollution disclosures and economic performance of firms belonging to four highly polluting industries- chemicals, steel, oil and paper and pulp is examined. The economic performance is determined by calculating ratios on return of assets, return on equity and operating performance. For measurement of the extensiveness of pollution disclosures, a disclosure index has been developed. The results do not indicate a significant association between the economic performance and pollution disclosures for the total sample. However, when the sample is segmented by industry group, a significant positive correlation is detected for the oil industry, indicating an association between economic performance and pollution disclosures. Furthermore, when the sample is divided on the basis of the firm size, the results show that the sub-group of large firms with poor economic performance provides detailed pollution information.
