Public opinion surveys serve as a conduit between the general public and elected authorities. Members of Congress frequently use polls to learn what their constituents' opinions are, but they also need to be aware of other political factors.

A random sample of the population must be used in an opinion poll, together with questions that are asked objectively to ensure that the results are reliable.

The most obvious distinction between an open-access poll and a scientific poll is that the samples in scientific polls are frequently chosen at random and occasionally weighted statistically to ensure that they are representative of the target population.

Read this passage by Mawi Asgedom and answer the question that follows:

Hi, my name is Mawi Asgedom. I'm excited to offer this class to you for one simple reason. That's because I believe you are far more intelligent, far smarter than you know. And the reason I believe that is, I lived it in my own life. See, I was born in Ethiopia; in my homeland there was a war so I became a refugee and I had to come to this country when I was seven years old. I didn't know any English when I came. I went to first grade, it was really hard. I didn't know the alphabet, I didn't know what to do in class. I looked around and thought, man, I can't be successful like these other kids. My family had also grown up in poverty, grew up on welfare from first to twelfth grade, my father was legally blind. I thought I couldn't do it. Fast forward to eighth grade, I had a D in my math class; I got Cs in some of my classes. I got kicked off my basketball team, I had a lot of challenging problems, I didn't have a lot of confidence.

Well, in high school something changed. I acquired some study skills, my mindset changed. Guess what guys? I became an A student. I became a top athlete in sports. And in my senior year of high school, something incredible happened, I couldn't have imagined. I got over three hundred thousand dollars worth of scholarships, I got into every college I applied to. I ended up going to Harvard University, the number one university in the United States, some people say the world. When I was at Harvard, I got As while I was there.

What I figured out, what I learned, is that any student, of any background, can be successful, whether you are rich or poor. For those of you that are out there thinking, well Mawi, I'm not that smart, I can't make it, I'm always struggled in school. In this class, I'm going to show you how to achieve and do things you never thought possible in the classroom. You're going to find out you're a lot more intelligent, a lot smarter than you ever knew and I'm going to show you how. For those of you out there who are great students, who say Mawi I've already got this, guess what, I spent four years at Harvard with some of the best students on the planet and I learned a lot of things from my own journey too. I've worked with more than a million students over the last fifteen years and if you are a good student right now, I'm going to make you better. This class will make you better.

Read the following statement: Well, in high school something changed. I acquired some study skills, my mindset changed.

What evidence did Mawi use to support this statement?

He started earning A's, became a top athlete, and was accepted to Harvard.
He believes that any student, from any background, can become successful.
He got a D in math class, C's in other classes, and got kicked off the basketball team.
He was a refugee from Ethiopia, grew up in poverty, and had low self-confidence.

Answers

Answer:

The first option- He started earning A's, became a top athlete, and was accepted to Harvard.

Explanation:

He explains how his whole life up until high school he was failing classes and struggling in school. He supports his statement "Well, in high school something changed. I acquired some study skills, my mindset changed." with the fact that he started to get straight A's and he soon got accepted into Harvard.

the introductory passage mentions that halomucin was predicted to contain a signal sequence and that later research found evidence of the protein outside of the h. walsbyi cell. what is the best description of a signal sequence?

Answers

A signal sequence is a short stretch of amino acid residues that direct the transport of a newly synthesized protein to a specific cellular location.

Signal sequences are commonly found at the N-terminus of a protein and are recognized by cellular machinery that facilitates protein trafficking and secretion. The presence of a signal sequence allows a protein to be targeted to specific compartments within the cell or to be secreted outside of the cell. These sequences are critical for the proper localization and function of proteins, and their identification can provide valuable insight into the cellular pathways and mechanisms involved in protein transport. By understanding the properties of signal sequences, researchers can gain a better understanding of the regulation of protein trafficking and develop new strategies for therapeutic intervention in disease states.

An Amendment to the Student's Bill of Rights

It has come to the notice of the student's executive council that there are issues regarding what the students can or cannot do within the school. The questions are related to the rights of students even as bonafide citizens of the United States of America.

Let it be known that America is a nation that stands for liberty. Liberty, not lawlessness. Every freedom we crave, or defend does and must fall under the law.

Some of our core tenets which are all constitutional are as follows:

You have the freedom to speak out, distribute fliers and petitions, and wear expressive attire in school – as long as you don't disrupt the school's operation or break school regulations that aren't directly related to the message.

In light of the above, the following information will be added to our Bill of Rights as Students:

Based on the First Amendment:

A student has the responsibility to maintain a consistent level of behavior in support of the institution's learning environment and to recognize the University's obligation to offer a learning environment.

Stay unperturbed if you are stopped by a police officer at your school. Do not dispute, fight, flee, or otherwise obstruct the police. Inquire whether you are free to depart. If the response is affirmative, move away from the officer quietly and calmly.

You must not resist, fight, or flee an officer who is detaining you. Say you want to keep silent and request a lawyer right away. Without the presence of a lawyer, do not say anything, sign anything, or make any choices.

Based on the new information being added to the Student's Bill of Rights, you are all encouraged to remain law-abiding, future-focused, and respectful of the institution as well as the constitution and will do well to get acquainted with the new amendments most of which have not been included in this brief letter.

I will you continued success in all your endeavors.
