why do humans tend to mate in long-term, committed relationships? human infants do not need much care, leaving time for the parents to reproduce more often. human infants are born helpless and need years of nurturing and protection. humans are genetically predisposed to experience love only once. psychological feelings of love remain stable over one's lifetime.

Answers

humans tend to long-term mating , committed relationship because human infants are born helpless and need years of nurturing and protection.

Long-term mating is a key adaptation strategy that addresses the issue of investing in children (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2007). Human infants need more care from their parents than do other great apes (Kaplan, Hill, Lancaster, & Hurtado, 2000). In contrast to chimpanzees who become net producers as early as age 5, children in all societies do not become net producers until they are at least 15 years old. Additionally, parental investment continues through support like grandparental investment long after children start their reproductive lives (Hrdy, 1999). Finally, humans frequently rear multiple children at once, multiplying the investment required at any one time. These excessive demands appear difficult to meet alone. In fact, a child whose father dies places such a drain on a group's resources that occasionally a decision is made to kill a child whose only support comes from the mother (Hill & Hurtado, 1996). According to certain theories, bonded long-term partners acting as parents were the answer to addressing the high resource demands of human children.

Given the high needs of human parental investment, the significance of parental support is obvious. Close relatives, older children, or other working partners can also invest in youngsters (Sear & Coall, 2011). Long-term partners must have been able to offer unique advantages in child rearing for parental investment to have driven the development of long-term mating rather than other cooperative relationships.

Long-Term Mating Using the Public Goods Model 9 ARTICLE IN PROCESS

Reduced conflicts of interest, mutual facilitation of investment, and complementarity of investments are the three main variables that enable partners to be particularly good sources of parental investment, according to a public goods analysis of long-term mating.

a. Men and women have equal absolute strength
b. Men and women have equal relative strength
c. Men and women have equal absolute muscular endurance
d. Men and women have equal relative muscular endurance

Answers

The statement that is supported by the fact that women and men at the U.S. Military Academy do equally well on tests of abdominal muscular endurance is Men and women have equal absolute muscular endurance. The correct answer is option (c).

Muscular endurance refers to the ability of a muscle or group of muscles to sustain repeated contractions over an extended period. In this case, abdominal muscular endurance is being assessed. If both women and men perform equally well on tests of abdominal muscular endurance, it suggests that they have equal absolute muscular endurance in that specific area.Absolute muscular endurance refers to the actual level of endurance without considering body size or other factors.

The other options, (a) Men and women have equal absolute strength, (b) Men and women have equal relative strength, and (d) Men and women have equal relative muscular endurance, are not supported by the given information. The statement specifically refers to abdominal muscular endurance and does not provide any information about absolute or relative strength. Therefore, the fact that women and men perform equally well on tests of abdominal muscular endurance suggests that they have equal absolute muscular endurance in that particular area. Hence option (c) is the correct answer.

In comparison to its ancestors, Homo erectus had smaller teeth and a smaller stomach, which may have indicated a healthier diet. Additionally, there is evidence that suggests the use of fire to prepare food (bone protein produced by hominid fire). This would result in a diet with more energy, reallocate calories, and promote brain development.

Homo erectus had a bigger physique, a larger brain, and smaller teeth than Homo habilis. It also shown substantial distinctions from subsequent hominin species, such as our own. The brain size of Homo erectus was greater. The erectus skull differed from ours in that it was long and low, like a soccer ball, with a receding forehead and an occipital torus, a horizontal ridge that gave the rear of the skull a squared-off look.

The cranial bones are thicker than in contemporary humans, and some Homo erectus skull feature a sagittal keel, which is a modest thickening along the sagittal suture. Over the eyes dangle broad, shelf-like brow ridges. The rear teeth are smaller compared to those of Homo habilis, and the face is less prognathic. The correct answer is D) Both the first and third answers are correct.

A regulator equipped with a conventional alternate-air-source second stage is among the most widely used and readily understood type of alternate air source, and allows the donor to give either second stage to an out-of-air diver. d) Both the first and third answers are correct.

Here we are talking about scuba diving equipment. It is the regulator that allows the diver to breathe from the oxygen tank. It is of the utmost importance because the function of this piece of equipment is precisely to regulate the pressure of the air so the diver has no problems breathing while it is diving. Let's have in mind that the air contained in the oxygen tank is at high pressure. Without the regulator, it could be difficult for the diver to breathe and could put it at risk.

B. Set up an area for clients not requiring decontamination.

C. Set up a separate lane for clients arriving by EMS transport that have been decontaminated but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

These areas ensure an organized and efficient process for evaluating, decontaminating, and treating clients in a systematic manner. The initial triage helps prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition, followed by the decontamination area where individuals are cleaned and cleared of any hazardous substances. The second triage allows for further assessment before directing patients to the appropriate treatment area. Besides that, an area should be designated for clients who do not require decontamination. This helps streamline the process and prevents unnecessary delays for individuals who can proceed directly to evaluation and treatment. Also, setting up a separate lane for clients arriving by EMS transport, who have already been decontaminated but did not sustain life-threatening injuries, helps in efficiently managing their flow and providing appropriate care.

Explain how the black death differs from our modern day epidemic...Covid-19.

Answers

The Black Death, a pandemic that devastated Europe in the Middle Ages, and Covid-19, the epidemic that has plagued the globe in the present era, are two of the most deadly pandemics in history.

The Black Death: It is believed that the Black Death, which wiped out millions of people in Europe in the fourteenth century, originated in Central Asia, spreading to Europe through the Silk Road. The infection was caused by the Yersinia pestis bacterium, which was transmitted from infected rats and fleas to humans.

People infected with the plague showed symptoms such as fever, vomiting, and the development of buboes, or painful swellings in the lymph nodes. Flea bites and coughing were the most common modes of transmission. The Black Death, which lasted from 1347 to 1351, was one of the deadliest pandemics in history, killing 25 million people in Europe alone.

Covid-19: The coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak began in China's Wuhan city in late 2019. Covid-19 is a respiratory disease that is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The virus is believed to have originated in bats and was transmitted to humans, possibly through pangolins. Human-to-human transmission occurs via respiratory droplets. The symptoms include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, which may range from mild to severe.

Covid-19 has a long incubation period, and it is possible for asymptomatic people to spread the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Covid-19 a global pandemic. A vaccine has been developed and is being administered to people worldwide. Treatment options such as remdesivir and dexamethasone have been used to treat the disease, and recovery rates have been high.
