I went to México the 14th in January of this year, and I didn't like it, trust me, the capital is horrible.
I was first in Cartagena Colombia and then I traveled to mexico and arrived at night there, the immigration control was the worst thing I have lived iun my hole life.
In immigration control for foreigners before me there were people from a flight from Boston, there were Australians too, and when it was my turn, I am Colombian by birth, I went calmly with my Colombian passport. When it is my turn at the control, before me there was a Colombian lady that I met at the Cartagena airport, the lady had all her papers in order but they put her in a second check for no reason, the exact same thing happened to me and after 4 hours at the airport they realized that all my papers were in order, the Mexican navy {airport police} were friendly with other foreigners but they were very unpleasant with Colombians, that's why I will never go back to cdmx.
the center of the city is practically in ruins, very horrible, the smell of the food makes you dizzy and it doesn't taste like anything if you don't apply hot sauce. the people are not as friendly as they make them out to be and it feels like a very dark environment as if they were going to rob me.
I would like to return to Mexico to give the country another chance but I will never return to its capital, I left there after 5 days.
