calculate the percent solute of 1.4g of NaCl in 46.6g of saline solution

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

3.0%

Explanation:

A solution's mass percent concentration, (% m/m), is calculated by observing the mass of solute in grams of obtained in each 100 g of solution. In simple terms, the solution's mass percent concentration is given by the number of parts of solute obtained in every 100 parts of solution, made up of solute and solvent.

Hence the percent m/m concentration of a solution is obtained as;

Mass of solute/ mass of solution × 100/1

From the question, we have,

Mass of solute= 1.4g

Mass of solution= 46.6 g

Therefore, percent m/m concentration of the saline solution=

1.4/46.6 ×100/1 = 3.0%

The percent solute concentration of the solution is 3.0%

Mechanical weathering:

It is the physical breakdown of rocks and minerals into smaller fragments without changing their chemical composition.

It occurs due to external forces such as freeze-thaw cycles, abrasion, and plant roots expanding.

Chemical weathering:

It is the alteration of rock or mineral material into new compounds as a result of chemical reactions with water, air, and acids.

It occurs due to the reaction of minerals with water, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and other agents to form new compounds such as oxides, hydroxides, and carbonates.

Both:

Both processes work together to break down and transform the earth's crust.

Both processes are essential for soil formation and the creation of new landscapes over geological time scales.

Hey Lenny lately I’ve been having a rough time in the water cycle. It all started when I was chilling in my favorite location the “glaciars” and suddenly the sun turned me into liquid form. Next thing I know I am hurdling down a river straight into a massive lake. Personally this is my least favorite stage of the water cycle because of kids and bacteria that lurk in the water, very scary things. I didn’t stop at the lake very long, and instead sunk into the soil in a process called collection so I could become ground water. Underground reservoir’s are much more peaceful then lakes and I wanted to stay there. However I was forced up a water well pump shortly after and sent through a long tube. Me and couple of the friends I met on the way were all dispersed over a giant grass feild. Many molecules in the group were captured by the hostile plants but I escaped through the means of evaporation. Currently I have condensed into cloud form and I am roaming the skies looking for you, when you get this let me know and I’ll percipitate in your area! P.s I found this photo of us freezing over in the ice age lollll.

1. Using D10W and a vial of NaCl 4 mEq/mL, how many mL of NaCl are needed to prepare 250 mL of a
D10/NS solution?
a. 4.8mL
b. 9.6ml
c. 19.6mL
d. 154mL

Answers

To prepare 250 mL of a D10/NS solution using D10W and a vial of NaCl 4 mEq/mL, you would need 9.6 mL of NaCl. Normal saline (NS) contains 154 mEq/L of sodium chloride (NaCl). To prepare 250 mL of NS, you would need 250 mL * (154 mEq/L) = 38500 mEq of NaCl. Since the vial of NaCl contains 4 mEq/mL, you would need 38500 mEq / (4 mEq/mL) = 9625 mL = 9.6 mL of NaCl. So the correct answer is b. 9.6ml.

the correct answer is A 4.8 mL

Use the picture below to answer the question. Comparing the two waves, wave B has a...A) higher frequency.B)

Answers

Answer: D) longer wavelength.

Explanation:

A) higher frequency and C) a shorter wavelength.

As far as I know, you calculate frequency on a graph using the number of peaks you can see. Since the wavelength is shorter (the distance between two peaks on the wave), the frequency should also be higher as more fit on the graph.

What is Genetics?

Genetics can be described as the study of genetic variation, genes, and heredity in organisms. It is a branch in biology because heredity is vital to organisms' evolution.

Trait and molecular inheritance mechanisms of genes are still primary principles of genetics and have expanded to study the function and behavior of genes.

Genetics has a number of subfields, including molecular genetics, epigenetics, and population genetics. Living organisms are studied within the broad field span the domains of life such as bacteria, archaea, and eukarya.

Genetic processes work with an organism's environment and experiences to influence behavior and development referred to as nature versus nurture. The extracellular or intracellular environment of a living organism can switch gene transcription on or off.

I am a metalloid. I am in the nitrogen family and row 4. I have an atomic mass of 74.92. I can be used as a poison. Who am I?

Answers

Arsenic

Arsenic has an atomic mass of 74.92, is a well known poison, and a metalloid.

Answer:

As – Arsenic

Explanation:

Let's break this down step by step. Make sure you have a periodic table to reference.

"I am a metalloid" – We will be looking towards the right side of the periodic table. The possible choices are boron (B), silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), arsenic (As), antimony (Sb), tellurium (Te), and astatine (At).

"I am in the nitrogen family" – Families are elements grouped by columns. The nitrogen family is group 15. The possible choices are now arsenic (As) and antimony (Sb).

"and row 4" – Counting from the very top (don't forget row 1 of hydrogen and helium), we can see that arsenic (As) is in the 4th row.

"I have an atomic mass of 74.92" – Arsenic (As) does have an atomic mass of 74.92, which confirms our answer.

Hope this helps!

1156 g/L
= ________ kg/mL

Answers

The Answer is 0.001156.

To convert g/L to kg/mL, we need to divide the value of g/L by 1000. Therefore:
1156 g/L = 1.156 kg/L
Since 1 L is equal to 1000 mL, we can convert kg/L to kg/mL by dividing by 1000:
1.156 kg/L = 1.156/1000 kg/mL
1.156/1000 kg/mL = 0.001156 kg/mL
Therefore, 1156 g/L is equal to 0.001156 kg/mL.

The two runways are run independently of one another. The time it takes an aeroplane to land or take off is an exponential random variable whose mean is 2 minutes. The number of requests per hour for take-offs or landings is each a Poisson random variable whose mean is 25. Consider first the landing runway.a) On average, how many aeroplanes are "stacked up" (i.e., waiting to land)?b) On average, how much time elapses between when an aeroplane arrives (i.e., requests permission to land) and the time it completes landing? (Show all calculations)c) The Aviation Authority requires that on average an air-traffic controller work for a maximum of 45 minutes out of every hour. Currently, there is only one air traffic controller at the airport is responsible for landings during every one-hour period. Should the airport use more controllers in order to meet the standard set by the Aviation Authority? Justify your answer.d) Suppose now that both runways can be used for both take-offs and landings. Now average service time for both take-offs and landings increases from 2 minutes to 2.16 minutes per aeroplane. Which arrangement two separate systems or one pooled system minimizes the average total amount of time it takes an aeroplane to either take off or land (waiting time plus landing or take-off time)? Note that in this case, the average number of aeroplanes waiting (to be given permission to land or take off) turns out to be 7.674.
