Sociologists study the ways in which social structures, institutions, and cultural norms affect patterns of family violence, and how power dynamics within families and larger social contexts can influence the incidence and severity of violence.

They also analyze how factors such as gender, race, ethnicity, class, and sexual orientation intersect with family violence, and how these forms of violence are shaped by broader social inequalities and power dynamics. Sociologists may also investigate how interventions and policies aimed at reducing family violence are developed, implemented, and evaluated, and how these efforts may be affected by broader social and political factors.

A clinical assessment will likely include all of the following components EXCEPTO a structured interview.
O behavioral observation.
O a brain scan.
O an initial diagnosis.

Answers

The correct answer to your question is A,  brain scan. A clinical assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of a person's mental and physical health status.

It involves gathering information about the individual's symptoms, medical history, family history, social and environmental factors, and any relevant behavioral observations. A structured interview is often a key component of a clinical assessment, as it allows the clinician to ask standardized questions and gather detailed information about the individual's symptoms and experiences.

However, while a clinical assessment may include a variety of other components such as behavioral observation and an initial diagnosis, a brain scan is not typically included as a standard part of the assessment process, unless there is a specific reason to suspect that the individual may have a neurological condition or injury that could be contributing to their symptoms.

There are many factors that contribute to our attraction to others. One of the best predictors of how one will select and develop interpersonal and romantic relationships is:

Answers

One of the best predictors of how one will select and develop interpersonal and romantic relationships is their attachment style.

Attachment theory suggests that our early experiences with caregivers shape our internal working models of relationships, which then influence our patterns of attachment in adulthood. Those with a secure attachment style tend to have trusting, supportive, and long-lasting relationships, while those with insecure attachment styles (anxious or avoidant) may struggle with intimacy and have more volatile relationships. Other factors that contribute to attraction include physical attractiveness, similarity in interests and values, proximity, and familiarity. Physical attractiveness is often the first thing we notice in someone and can influence initial attraction, but it is not the only factor. Similarity in interests and values can create a sense of familiarity and comfort, while proximity and repeated exposure can increase liking through the mere exposure effect. Ultimately, attraction is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that is influenced by a range of individual and situational factors. While attachment style is an important predictor of relationship outcomes, it is not the only factor that determines the success of a relationship. Other factors such as communication skills, conflict resolution, and commitment also play important roles in building and maintaining healthy relationships.

he Temples at Abu Simbel
If you ever travel to Egypt, be sure to visit the two temples at Abu Simbel, a town on the banks of the Nile River south of Aswan. The history of their construction spans both ancient and modem times.

Then
Built around 1250 B.C.E., the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller Temple of Hathor next to it were carved out of a mountainside. This was no easy job. Four 67-foot-high statues of Ramses flank the entrance to the Great Temple. Inside, three inner chambers extend two hundred feet into the rock. The ancient Egyptians excavated these rooms and their massive columns using, of course, only hand tools. They also used detailed calculations to carefully align the temple. As a result, at dawn on two days of the year, sunlight reaches into the third chamber. This room was a sacred sanctuary, containing the statues of four gods. The sun's rays light up the statues and symbolically awake them to life.

Now
In the 1960s, Egypt built the High Dam to control the annual Nile floods. The lake that formed behind the dam would have covered the temples at Abu Simbel. Archeologists from Egypt and many other countries were alarmed, so they raised funds to move the mountainside. And that is what was done. Workers using handsaws cut the two temples into more than a thousand blocks. Each block weighed from 10 to 40 tons. The blocks were carried to safe ground 195 feet higher. Engineers then rebuilt the two temples inside a man-made concrete mountain. They were careful to place the Great Temple in the exact orientation of the original so that the gods of the sacred sanctuary are still awakened twice a year. This reconstruction was nearly as huge a feat as that of digging the temples from the rock in the first place.

Select the correct answer.
According to the author, why should a tourist go to Abu Simbel?

The temples are a feat of ancient engineering.

what level of moral development did dr. snyderman exhibit when she publicly announced her self-imposed quarantine?

Answers

Dr. Snyderman's decision to publicly announce her self-imposed quarantine can be analyzed from the perspective of Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development.

According to Kohlberg, there are three levels of moral development: pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional. Each level has two stages, making a total of six stages.

The pre-conventional level is characterized by a focus on self-interest and external consequences. The conventional level is characterized by conformity to social norms and values, while the post-conventional level is characterized by a concern for universal ethical principles and values.

In the case of Dr. Snyderman, her decision to publicly announce her self-imposed quarantine can be seen as an example of exhibiting a post-conventional level of moral development. She showed concern for universal ethical principles such as protecting the health and safety of others by voluntarily quarantining herself after being exposed to Ebola.

Dr. Snyderman's decision can also be seen as an example of stage six in Kohlberg's theory, which involves a commitment to justice and the protection of human rights. In this stage, individuals base their moral decisions on abstract principles of justice and equality, rather than on the opinions of others or social norms.

Overall, Dr. Snyderman's decision to publicly announce her self-imposed quarantine can be viewed as an example of exhibiting a post-conventional level of moral development, specifically stage six in Kohlberg's theory.
